How bartering works
Barter 123 helps people find one another for direct exchanges. You decide what feels fair, agree on the details, and arrange the handoff together.
1. Browse the swap board
Search available listings by keyword or category. Read the description, condition, general area, and the owner’s “What I Want in Exchange” details.
2. Post an offer
Create an account, then describe one item or service you can offer. Add clear photos, choose a category and general location, and say what you’d like in return. New listings go to review before they appear publicly.
3. Talk through the trade
Use the contact option on a listing to suggest a specific exchange. Be clear about condition, quantity, timing, delivery or pickup, and any extra costs. Either person can decline an offer.
4. Complete the exchange safely
- Meet in a public place when meeting in person.
- Inspect items before exchanging them.
- Agree on the full trade before either side ships or hands over an item.
- Keep your home address, phone number, and payment details private until you choose to share them.
